2026 EPFD SOCK-tober SOCK DRIVE!

East Providence Fire Department Socktober donation flyer, listing four drop-off station addresses and dates for collecting new socks in October.

This October, the East Providence Fire Department will be participating in Socktober, a month-long collection of new socks in all sizes to be donated to those in need in our community.

Socks are typically one of the least donated items during clothing drives, despite being one of the most needed. Socktober originally started at the high school and has since grown into a larger community effort, with the East Providence Police Department joining in, and now the Fire Department as well. Christine Alves from the high school was featured on channel 12 news last year in regard to this clothing drive, as well as nationally in NY. Below is the channel 12 story.

We’re asking anyone who would like to participate to donate new, unused socks of any size — children’s through adults’. Even a single package helps!

Donation boxes will be placed at all four fire stations by next week and will remain available throughout the month of October.

Attached is a flyer promoting this event. We ask for help in spreading the word; post it to your social media, hang it in your church or gym. Send it to family and friends!

Thank you in advance to everyone who contributes and helps us support this community effort.

If you wish to send a donation through Amazon or other source please send it to:
